BEN PORTIS WITH TIM ZUCK

Saturday, March 19, 2011 @ 2pm

Barbara Edwards Contemporary is pleased to present prominent art curator Ben Portis in conversation with Tim Zuck, as part of the gallery's ongoing BEC LECTURE SERIES. This discussion will focus on Zuck's current exhibition TIM ZUCK PRINTS on show at the gallery until March 19th, 2011. Curator of the MacLaren Art Centre, Ben Portis began his artistic career as a practicing artist, a beginning that has lent a unique sensibility to his curatorial practice. After receiving his Masters in Curatorial Studies from Bard College in New York, Portis held the position of Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art at the Art Gallery of Ontario from 2002 - 09. He has written extensively on contemporary art for Canadian Art, Boarder Crossings and Parachute. Portis' contribution to the discussion of Zuck's works promises an informed perspective by one of Canada's most insightful curators.

Please RSVP as space is limited.

Reception to follow.
